Puzzle Mania!

Who likes puzzles??!!

Hold on....am I hearing cries of "not me!"

Well, even if you don't like traditional puzzles, I challenge you to try the app Jigsaw Puzzles. It's available in the Apple Store and Google Play.  You are going to be hooked, just like me!

Step 1:  Get the app

Step 2: Pick a puzzle that you like. When you open it, be sure it's available for 36 pieces (see below the puzzle image). For starters, keep rotation off.  Like this...

Step 3: The pieces are in the scroll on the bottom. First look for only edge pieces - they have a straight side. Start dragging them to the side of the puzzle they belong. Don't worry about connecting them...just collect the edge pieces and group them near the side they belong.

Step 4: Focus on one edge to work on at a time. Look at the patterns on the picture and start connecting pieces together. They will "click" into place when in the proper position. Here I started with the bottom edge.

Step 5: Finish all the edges.

Step 6 : This eye icon that I circled in yellow will let you see the completed picture. Now chose a special feature or color in the picture to focus on next.

I chose to focus on the dog's face. I pulled up all the pictures that I saw a portion of his face. You can just collect them below the puzzle and start putting them together.  Once you have pieces together, drag that portion into the puzzle.

Step 7: Now drag up the remaining pieces. Look at the shape of the pieces missing. Examine the colors and patterns of the picture to match the remaining pieces into their spot.

And now, you're officially hooked!  Puzzles are such great activities to build your visual problem solving skills!
